Lincoln Cathedral has launched a new discount card alongside businesses in a bid to encourage people to support what is local to them.

From this week, people will be able to use a Community Card for Lincoln Cathedral and other local businesses in the area.

The Community Card, which costs £39.99 for a year, was launched to support local business in Lincoln and also the ongoing work of sustaining Lincoln Cathedral.

Partner businesses, such as the Doddington Hall, Thailand No. 1, Ruddocks of Lincoln and The Magna Carta Pub offer discounts with the Community Card of up to 20%.

The card also gives the bearer free entry to the Cathedral for a year.

Over 40 businesses have shown interest in the scheme so far and it is hoped that this will grow, giving Lincoln and Lincolnshire more of an opportunity to get discounts and have exciting days out.

A spokesperson at the Magna Carta Pub, which is part of the community card scheme said: “The Magna Carta is proud to be supporting this community card scheme.

“This card emphasises that the Bailgate area is not just a place for tourism but a place of community.”
