Hemswell Antique Centres has officially re-opened a newly renovated coffee shop as part of its 30th anniversary year after a £30,000 investment.

Established in 1986 by Rex and Nepi Miller, the centre has 400 dealers selling antiques and collectables, the centre is the largest retail destination of its kind in Europe.

Extensive work has been carried out to include the installation of a new ceiling, new lighting and renovated toilet facilities in Building One on the former wartime airbase.

Managing Director Robert Miller unveiled the new look coffee shop during a barbeque for antique dealers.

He said: “Hemswell is not just an antique centre, it’s a destination and people often spend a whole day here so the coffee shop, which provides everything from full lunches to snacks, is a vital part of our business.

“The fresh, airy new look brings the coffee shop in line with the modern feel of our other cafe in The Guardroom. It is now lighter and brighter and allows customers to enjoy their meals in a relaxed atmosphere, with an outside garden terrace which people can enjoy during the sunny weather.”
