Plans for a five-storey extension to the rear of a hotel on Lincoln’s Brayford will be decided at a city council meeting on Wednesday, September 14.

As previously reported, Holiday Inn submitted plans to the City of Lincoln Council on May 10 to create an additional 49 bedrooms, increasing its current number to 146.

The development would extend onto the hotel’s car park, reducing its current spaces by 24.

The proposals will be put forward to the planning committee at City Hall on Wednesday, September 14 at 5.30pm along with plans for a second floating restaurant in the same area.

The proposed second floating restaurant, should it be given a green light, is expected to create around 30 new jobs and would take around a year to complete.

However, project partners are still waiting to hear whether their bid for European Regional Development Funding, which would provide around £600,000, has been successful.
