Lincolnshire Independent candidate Cat Mills has won a by-election for the Cliff Villages ward of North Kesteven district council after the former councillor for the area resigned.
With 1,146 votes cast – a turnout of 26.52% – she won the seat with 721 votes.
Daniel Gray (Conservative) took 372 votes, with Aarron Smith (Liberal Democrat) winning 49 votes.
The by-election was held after former Councillor Laura Conway resigned from the authority in the summer.
She had stepped down due to work commitments. She said it had been a “great pleasure” to serve the people of her community for the past five years.
The result of the election means the split of North Kesteven District Council remains unchanged.
