An alleged thief raided the changing rooms of a Lincoln school during a Sunday football match, making off with a phone, cash and keys before stealing a player’s van – the second incident of this kind in a matter of weeks.

Lincolnshire Police are investigating the theft of the white transit van from Lincoln Christ Hospital School on Wragby Road, at around 11am on Sunday November 27, while players continued their match.

The keys for the van were stolen from a changing room on the pavilion of the playing field along with a mobile phone and small amount of cash.

A significant quantity of tools were also in the van at the time of the theft.

Lincoln’s Criminal Investigation Department have reviewed CCTV footage and have said they are looking to speak to the man pictured as part of their inquiries.

A similar incident was reported at North Hykeham Rugby Club on October 30, during which a player’s Alpha Romeo Giulietta was stolen.

Keys were taken from a bag during a football practice and cash also taken from wallets.

The valuables were taken from the side of a pitch as opposed to a locked changing room. Two mobiles phones and £120 of club funds was taken.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “The victims of stolen phones have been informed that we have not been able to recover and at present no other lines of inquiry have been identified.

“The vehicle has not yet been located”.
