A number of redundancies will be made at a Lincoln-based property lettings and insurance company this Christmas after it announced plans to reorganise staffing.

Barbon Insurance Group, the umbrella firm for Lincoln letting agent services and insurance company HomeLet, Letsure and Rentshield, is in the process of carrying out a consultation with staff, which is due to be concluded in December.

The company, which has its HQ based on Edgewest Road, has said a “small number” of staff are affected across the company and some may be redeployed into other areas.

The firm would not disclose how many redundancies would come from the plans at this stage when contacted by The Lincolnite.

A spokesperson said no frontline or contact centre staff would be affected by proposals and there would be no service disruption.

They said: “From time to time we will look at the way we’re organised to ensure it best serves the needs of our customers.

“We are fortunate to be a growing business in a growing market but in order to remain in that position we will always want to fine tune our organisation to stay ahead.

“Occasionally that results in some organisation changes including identifying roles we may no longer need and creating new roles we don’t currently have.

“This is the proposal we are currently consulting on with a relatively small number of affected staff.

“We hope to be able to redeploy some staff who are affected but cannot, at this stage, predict the outcome of the consultation process which is unlikely to conclude before mid-December.

“No frontline or contact centre staff are affected by this proposal and there will therefore be no disruption to the quality of service our customers expect from Barbon.”
