Investigation begins into severe roof fire at Lincoln home

Latest update: Lincolnshire Police have confirmed there was no evidence of any criminal offences which lead to the fire. 


Inspectors are at the scene of a fire which damaged 60% of property at a Lincoln home overnight.

As reported at the time, the fire started in the roof of a house on Sewell Road shortly after 10pm on Monday, November 14.

Six crews attended the blaze shortly after 10pm on Monday, November 14.

Residents were advised to close doors and windows as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

The fire was put out by around 11.15pm and damping down was ongoing until around 2am on Tuesday, November 15.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said a crew would be returning to re-inspect the scene at around 9am, with investigations beginning into the cause of the fire.

No injuries have been reported.
