Lincoln auction house Unique Auctions has officially opened in its new home after a £50,000 investment.

More than 800 people attended the opening day on November 5 following its relocation to larger premises.

As previously reported, Unique Auctions’ move to Teal Park has helped the business become the largest auction house in Lincoln and one of the largest in the East Midlands in its 12,000 sq ft site.

Lincoln actor Colin McFarlane opened the doors to the new site. Visitors received free valuations by resident antique experts and were given tours of the facilities, which include five new auction rooms and a valuation room.

Unique Auctions now plans to increase the number of auctions from five to seven a month, which will include a specialist monthly sale (jewellery, art, comics, records, militaria), as well as the antiques and collectors, and antiques and general auction.

Originally established in 1968, the company has been in Lincoln for over a decade and covers valuation, probate, estate and house clearance for private clients, as well as solicitors, banks, will writers, funeral directors, estate agents and local councils.

The auctioneers, which operate on a global market, are known for their ability to sell unique and unusual items including the Brayford Bell, an 18th century sword and a real skeleton in cupboard.
