Councillors will discuss plans to turn a 239-year-old former residential college site in Lincoln into 14 upmarket flats and houses next week.

As previously reported, the 18th century Chad Varah House on Wordsworth Street was sold to Dean Draper of Peach Estates in September 2016, who formed a joint company with developers Philip Good and Colin Holden.

If plans go ahead, the Chad Varah House will be converted into twelve apartments including extension to North Elevation and associated alterations.

Both the former chapel and the old Wardens House would be transformed into a single dwelling.

Under the plans, the former college building would be transformed into two, three and four bedroom properties ranging from £350,000 to £1 million.

The building, which is listed Grade II is currently empty, most recently having been occupied by the Lincoln University Technical College before staff and students moved to their new building in the former Greestone Centre off Lindum Hill.

It has been recommended that the application is granted. A decision will be made by January 11.
