Lincoln City’s FA Cup fairytale continues this evening as they find out their opposition for the 5th round, with a trip to Manchester United a possibility.

The Imps will be ball number seven in the draw, which takes place at 7.15pm on BBC One where fans will be hoping for a trip to one of the Premier League’s top teams.

Lincoln’s emphatic 3-1 victory over Championship leaders Brighton on Saturday afternoon means they are in the last 16 of the FA Cup for the first time since 1902.

The Imps could face money-spinning ties against Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea, or even a trip to Premier League champions Leicester City if they win their replay against Derby County.

After wins against Championship and League One sides earlier in the competition, fans may fancy themselves progressing to the quarter-finals with a possible tie against Oxford United, Wolverhampton Wanderers or Fulham.

This is the first year that two non-league sides have made the fifth round of the FA Cup after fellow National League team Sutton United defeated Leeds United 1-0 on Sunday.

Even the most optimistic City fan couldn’t have dreamt they would be in this situation when their FA Cup campaign began with a 0-0 draw at home to Guiseley back in October.

Though after winning the replay the Imps went onto knocking Altrincham, Oldham, Ipswich and Brighton out of the competition and now Lincoln are only two wins away from an unimaginable trip to Wembley.

The ties for the fifth round will be played between Friday, February 17 and Monday, February 20.
