St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice’s Christmas tree recycling service has raised more than £4,800 for the charity.

Over 500 trees were collected on Saturday, January 7 from Lincoln in LN1, LN2, LN3 and parts of LN4, LN5 and LN6 and then recycled with Continental Landscapes, TJS Tree Services and Taylor Tree Services.

The service was supported by Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Group Together, Lincoln Fight Factory Wrestling and Washingborough Scouts Group.

Laura Stones, event fundraiser for St Barnabas Hospice, said: “I am absolutely delighted by the amount of money raised and from the support of our local community who chose to have their trees recycled.

“This is the second year we have run this service and we have seen demand grow by 257%.”

“The money raised from this service will help the hospice to continue caring for terminally ill people across Lincolnshire.

“We will be running this service next year and hope to raise even more money to support our care.”
