A St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice health care support worker has raised £7,000 for the end of life care charity after her and her sister walked the Great Wall of China.

Tracy Atkins, 51, and her sister Yvonne Ray, 55, both from Lincoln, headed to Beijing for the eight day charity trek in September 2016.

The pair walked up to eight hours each day in a variation of weather conditions.

The duo have now announced they raised £7,000 from a variety of fundraising events throughout the year including:

  • A horse racing night at Lincoln City football club
  • Bingo nights
  • Coffee mornings
  • Afternoon teas
  • A raffle

Tracy said: “I was honoured to be able to raise the money for St Barnabas Hospice as I see first-hand how crucial our care and services are to the local community.

“I am lucky to have had the support of my colleagues who dug deep to support me in my fundraising endeavours.”
