Plans have been submitted to the City of Lincoln Council for an unused warehouse to be transformed into a place of worship.

The plans, submitted by Paster Vera Icheke from the Redeemed Christian Church, would see a warehouse at the back of Motosave on Newark Road transformed into a place of worship.

If approved, the church would be open every day, with the opportunity to worship and pray from 5pm to 10pm, with a night Vigil on the last Friday of every month from 9pm to 4am.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God is described as one of the UK’s fastest growing Pentecostal churches.

It was founded in Nigeria in 1952 and is established in more than 100 countries.

The church offices would be open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and open on a Sunday from 6am to 9pm.

There would also be church services available to attend on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Councillors will consider whether to approve the application at a later date.
