Lincoln Business Improvement Group has teamed-up with the Healthy High Streets Campaign to spring a Valentine’s surprise on city shoppers and visitors.

People in the city centre between February 11 and 19 are being challenged to see if they can spot something new.

Five red hearts will be planted at hotspots around the city, in which people can take selfies with them to put themselves in the running for a range of prizes.

All they have to do to get involved is get snapping and post their selfies, and message, on Twitter or Instagram – using the Hashtag #lovelincoln.

Lincolnshire Co-op is donating a bunch of flowers, Debenhams champagne and chocolates and St Marks Shopping Centre is giving us a £50 Debenhams’ voucher.

The Castle View Indian is donating a meal for two people and a bottle of Prosecco, and Bunty’s Tea Room in Steep Hill is providing afternoon tea for two.

Mamas and Papas is also supporting our fun event with bag full of goodies worth £35 and The White Hart Hotel in Bailgate has sponsored our top prize of Bed & Breakfast for two people.

Lincoln BIG Events and Marketing Assistant Jess Wickham said: “Our levy payers have generously thrown their weight behind this initiative.”

The hearts will be installed in five different locations around the city centre at the end of this week, so people should look out for them from Friday, February 10 and post their photos by February 19.
