Rush hour commuters faced major delays on the A46 in Lincoln after a lorry lost slabs of solid concrete on the carriageway.

The incident, which happened at around 8am on Wednesday, February 8, saw a northbound lane of the road closed off near to the Carholme Road roundabout.

The closure caused chaos for those travelling through the area with queues around two miles in length.

Drivers saw slabs of concrete laid across the carriageway and Lincolnshire Police officers were called to the scene to cordon off the area.

It is not clear how long the closure will be in place.
