Man charged with drink driving after A15 lorry crash

The driver of an articulated HGV which crashed off the A15 north of Lincoln yesterday has been charged with drink driving offences.

As reported previously, the crash happened at around 12.20pm on the A15 at Snitterby.

The driver of the Volvo HGV, Tomasz Kogut, aged 40, of no fixed abode, had veered off the road and collided with a tree.

Police closed the road for a total of six hours in order to recover the vehicle.

Kogut has now been charged with an offence of driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit.

He has been refused bail and will appear before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today.
