Fire crews battle 800 straw bales ablaze in Waddington

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue crews were called extinguish a fire which had consumed 800 straw bales in Waddington near Lincoln.

The fire began at around 7.20pm on Thursday, March 16 on Somerton Gate Lane.

Crews used two hose reels and one main jet to battle the blaze.

By around 7am, fire and rescue posted on social media that the fire had been left to burn out and no crew were left in attendance.

A re-inspection will take place later today.
