Woman to face multiple drink driving charges in court after B1190 crash near Lincoln

A 34-year-old local woman will appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court this morning to face a number of driving charges after a crash on the B1190 Lincoln Road near Doddington yesterday.

Faith Espinall of Maltkin Road, Fenton, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after crashing an Audi with a Mini at around 1.15pm on Thursday, March 23. (Police initially reported that the driver of the Mini had been arrested).

The Audi was forced into a ditch and the Mini caught fire.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the driver of the Mini, a woman in her 60s, suffered minor injuries.

Lincolnshire Police said Espinall has been charged with failing to supply a sample following the crash.

She also faces charges in court for two other offences:

  • March 3, 2017: Charged with driving an Audi A5 on Sand Lane, Broadholme, when police say she had consumed “so much alcohol that the proportion of it in [her] blood, 264 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit”.
  • March 3, 2017: Charged with driving an Audi A5 dangerously on Sand Lane, Broadholme.

Anyone with information about the crash on March 23 is asked to call Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 209 of March 23.
