Suspected robber tells shop staff he has gun before grabbing woman in Lincoln centre

Lincolnshire Police are investigating after two robbery reports in Lincoln city centre this afternoon.

Officers say a man has walked into Martins newsagents on Sincil Street just after 12.30pm on Monday, April 24 and demanded money from the staff.

He stated he had a gun, although police have stated no weapon was seen.

Shortly after at 12.40pm a man matching the same description reportedly grabbed a woman from behind on the steps leading from the High Street to the Glory Hole area, towards the Brayford Pool.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “No one was seriously injured, although those involved in these incidents are badly shaken.

“The man is described as in his late 20s with long hair in a pony tail, wearing a blue coat, white shoes/trainers with collar length hair.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting 171 of today.
