Local developers have begun work on new luxury townhouses in the centre of Lincoln with a value of more than £2 million.

The nine, three-bedroom homes would be built on Motherby Hill, off West Parade. They are being marketed as luxury and will each have its own private parking space.

Work is being delivered by Jackson Living; a new residential brand under the Jackson & Jackson Developments umbrella and is the first Jackson Living scheme.

Bailgate Mount is due for completion in February 2018, will be created on a site which is currently vacant, but was previously occupied by a row of terrace houses which were demolished in the 1960s.

The new properties will range from £214,950 to £279,950 and will feature high spec fixtures and fittings and rear patio gardens.

Developers, who are also behind schemes in the city such as One the Brayford and The Gateway student accommodation, say the project is the first of its kind in the city centre for over five years.

Dominik Jackson, director of Jackson & Jackson Developments, said: “Bailgate Mount is a prestigious address and a much-needed residential development for Lincoln. The site is currently overgrown and covered in rubble from the previous houses that were taken down over 40 years ago. The development will create a smart avenue of townhouses, all with shrubbery to the front of the properties.

“It’s been a long time since we have seen houses built in central Lincoln and this area of the city has the best of both worlds; being walking distance between the retail hub of Lincoln and the stunning Medieval quarter.

“We are pleased to have launched Jackson Living which will deliver high-quality and unique homes across Lincolnshire. We want to offer something a little bit different and Jackson Living homes will be recognised for individuality and prestige.”

The build programme, which is being delivered by local construction consultancy LGG Projects, has started with a temporary structure being erected around the perimeter of the construction site.

Director of LGG Projects, Paul Jakuc, said: “We are pleased to be working with Jackson Living to deliver Bailgate Mount and it’s great to see progression on the site which has been derelict for so many years. During the nine-month construction period, we will have a team of approximately 20 local employees onsite.”
