Lincoln BIG, organiser of the Lincoln Knights’ Trail, has issued a warning after one of the sculptures was broken and removed for repairs.

The ‘Proud Knight’, which is number 22 on the trail and is located outside the Stonebow has been taken away to be repaired.

Brackets connecting the knight to its plinth broke after a person attempted to get on the back of the sculpture.

The knight is expected to be back in place by tomorrow morning (June 30).

Sharron Stone, project leader for the Lincoln Knights’ Trail told The Lincolnite: “We would like to remind people not to climb onto the knights.

“There are signs asking people not to climb.

“Thankfully it has not cost a lot to fix this knight and he is currently in our office while he dries.”
