The Original Bierkeller, a traditional German bierkeller and restaurant, will bring a slice of Munich culture to Lincoln as it officially opens.

Following an investment of between £300,000 and £400,000, the German beer hall will officially open later this evening on Silver Street on the former site of The Forum.

The Original Bierkeller, which has a sister venue in Sheffield, will be full of traditions from Steins to Oompah Bands, Bratwurst to Haxen and Lederhosen.

Opening from 7pm Sundays – Thursdays, 4pm Fridays and 2pm on Saturdays, the Original Bierkeller hopes to have all the spills and thrills to inject a German spark into the city’s late night and restaurant economy.

General Manager David Davies said: “This is a very exciting project, we are delighted to be bringing to the heart of the city.”

Matt Winterbottom previously told The Lincolnite: “People can expect quiz nights hosted by people from either The Chaseand Eggheads, rock and roll bingo nights, which are interactive music based bingo nights and then every Friday and Saturday night we will have an oompah band.

“It’s really good fun and the best thing is people get to meet other people.

“People can make new friends and have a really really good, fun night out.”
