Highways teams will be carrying out roadworks on the A46 between the Skellingthorpe roundabout and Carholme Roundabout from next week.
Work carried out by Highways England will take place overnight from 8pm to 6am Monday to Friday from Monday, July 3 to Monday, August 21.
It includes clearing of overgrown vegetation, maintaining drainage systems, resurfacing the carriageway and refreshing road markings and studs.
Lincolnshire County Council has said that once completed, all road users will benefit from improved road safety and a smoother carriageway.
For safety, the northbound and southbound carriageways will need to be closed overnight, with fully-signed diversion routes in place.
The carriageway will be open as normal during the daytime and during the weekend.
