A woman has aired her disgust after claiming to have found a clump of hair in a yoghurt she bought at the new Lidl supermarket in North Hykeham.

Katie Priest purchased the Milbona Greek style strawberry yoghurt on July 3 during her weekly shop, but she said she never expected to find multiple pieces of hair in her snack the following day.

After complaining to Lidl on July 5, Katie was offered a £10 voucher, as, according to Katie, ‘Lidl said they would never give more than that’.

The discount supermarket brand is now investigating her complaint.

The hair was found in Katie’s snack on July 4

Katie told The Lincolnite: “The hair was in my mouth (so that’s when I noticed!). I was doing the classic watching tv and snacking… safe to say I was horrified!

“I spoke with Lidl and they have advised that all they are willing to offer is a £10 voucher!

“Considering I had the clump of hair in my mouth I think that’s pretty poor.

“I spoke to them over the phone and I said to them after receiving the letter it was insulting that the £10 receive didn’t even cover a quarter of my shopping bill, they said that they would never give more than this.”

A spokesperson for Lidl told The Lincolnite: “We only ever work with reputable accredited suppliers who have strict controls and procedures in place to ensure that our products meet the high standards demanded by us and by our customers.

“We are, therefore, very disappointed that the expected high standards have not been met on this occasion and continue to investigate this matter as a priority.”
