A Lincoln boarding school has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ following an inspection by Ofsted.

Following an inspection from May 9 to May 11, the watchdog rated The Priory Academy LSST on Cross O’Cliff Hill as outstanding overall.

The Priory Academy LSST is one of four academies that form the Priory Federation of Academies Trust and is the only boarding school in the academy group. It offers mixed boarding to a maximum of 60 sixth-form students.

Ofsted’s inspection framework reviewed the main areas and the academy was graded ‘outstanding’ in all areas, these were:

  • Overall experiences and progress of children and young people – Outstanding
  • How well children and young people are helped and protected – Outstanding
  • The effectiveness of leaders and managers – Outstanding

Inspectors said: “The boarding school provides highly effective services. The actions of the school contribute to significantly improved outcomes and positive experiences for children and young people.

“Staff are ambitious and have high aspirations for young people.

“Safeguarding young people is central to all practice. Young people feel safe, and robust procedures and practice help to keep them safe.”

Priory Academy LSST Head of Boarding John Nuttall added: “The outcomes achieved would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of the whole ‘boarding family’ – students, parents and staff.

“We are all very proud to have been given another official stamp of approval for work that we do as a matter of course day in, day out.”
