Developers have submitted proposals that would see a Lincoln car park built upon to create a new city centre hotel, flats or student accommodation.

Jackson and Jackson Developments have submitted plans to build on the site off Grantham Street, between Danesgate student accommodation and The Terrace.

The applicants lodged outline proposals that would see the site, currently used as an NCP car park, turned into two ground levels of parking with a four-storey apartment or hotel block above.

Dominik Jackson of Jackson Developments, landowners of the site, told The Lincolnite the planning team was working on plans for the best use of the space and conversations are ongoing with tenants NCP.

“We don’t believe the site and the current car park area is being utilised to the full”, he said. “It sits in a prime location which suits students, accommodation or a hotel and is easily accessible.

“The car park would remain and be available for public use. The number of spaces would be retained or perhaps even slightly increased.”

Outline plans, which have been submitted to the City of Lincoln Council, will be considered by the planning committee at a later date.
