Police public safety unit officers rushed to an address in Saxilby overnight and a section of the road was closed over concerns for a man’s safety.

Lincolnshire Police have said the man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

Residents reported a number of police cars and vans, along with other emergency responders, were seen at an address on A57 Gainsborough Road in the village near Lincoln, and that a section of the road was closed at around 10pm.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “This was a concern for the safety of a man residing in The Row.

“We deployed a public safety unit and he was later arrested for criminal damage. He remains in custody at this time.”

It is understood that general damage has been caused to the property.

There have been no reports of any injuries at the time of writing.
