Festive-favourite The Snowman is to be screened at Lincoln Cathedral backed by a live orchestra in November after the success of last year’s event.

Five showings of 1982 film, based on Raymond Briggs’ children’s book, will be shown on Saturday, November 18 for Lincoln families to enjoy.

Six screenings of The Snowman will take place at Lincoln Cathedral

The screenings of the film will be shown in the dimly lit nave at the Cathedral to create a magical atmosphere.

Originally published as a picture book in 1978, the hit story went on to sell over 8.5million copies across the world.

Timings for the shows are; 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3pm, 7pm and 8:30pm. Tickets start at £6 and will go on sale on Tuesday, August 1 at 9:30am on the Lincoln Cathedral website here.
