An artistic video has been created showing a timelapse of Lincoln, taken from South Common.

The video, which was filmed on Saturday, July 1 by professional photographer Matthew Lee, 28, features the iconic Lincoln Cathedral alongside some beautiful views of the city.

Take a look at Matthew’s video here:

Matthew wanted to capture what the city looks like from a far and wanted the video to feel as though you are looking at the city through a microscope.

He told The Lincolnite: “I moved to lincoln some five years ago now, as a creative person it’s such an inspiring city to live in. From the historic landmarks around the city and surrounding villages – to the beautiful views… the city always has something to offer.

“I wanted to capture how the city looks from a far. In the first section the camera is set back which makes the city looks peaceful, somewhat calm and desolate.

“As the camera begins to move in, you start seeing traffic on Canwick Hill and lots of life happening in the streets.

“It’s almost like taking a look through a microscope and peering into the city.

“We all live busy lives, but it’s important to take a moment to just stop and take in the little things that surround us. It’s therapeutic to me.”
