A dispersal order will be in place in Lincoln’s city centre this weekend.

Lincolnshire Police have said the order will be issued to help tackle anti-social behaviour including begging, street drinking and the use of drugs in the area.

This means that people committing these offences will be asked to leave the area under section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014.

The order will be in place from 8am on Saturday, July 22 and will last for 48 hours.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “Those who are asked to leave the area by a police officer or PCSO will be unable to return for the duration of the order.

“Failing to comply with this Section 35 notice would see them arrested.

“The enforcement has been authorised to tackle the alarm and distress caused to the public and prevent them from being harassed.”
