A local man has been charged with robbery, possession of a knife and assault after attacking a shopowner and making off with a quantity of cash.

As reported previously, the owner of the Premier shop on Newark Road was injured during the armed robbery at around 5.15pm on Thursday, August 3.

Police said the shop owner had attempted to stop a robber when he was assaulted with a knife, sustaining a minor injury to his hand.

Sean McNally, 32, of Lamb Gardens has been charged with this robbery and has been bailed to appear at court, Lincolnshire Police confirmed on Monday, August 14.

He has also been charged with possessing a knife / sharp pointed article in a public place and assaulting a person.
