Reports of person in Sincil Bank drain turned out to be false alarm

One of those days: Fire crews and police were called to reports of a person in the Sincil Bank drain. It turned out to be something quite different.

Police and firefighters were called out to the Sincil Bank area of Lincoln overnight after receiving reports of a possible person in Sincil Drain.

Concerns were called in to emergency services at around 7.20pm on Tuesday, August 23.

On arrival, crews found that a duvet in the water had been mistaken for a person.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said that crews used a water rescue sled to recover the duvet and two bicycles from the water.
