The Scarlet Red Alehouse and Kitchen is to open later this month in Lincoln, replacing the former Dexters on Newland.

The pub will open on Tuesday, September 26 after an investment of £100,000 from brewery Star Pubs & Bars and £30,000 personal investment from owners.

The lease of the new venture has been taken on by Rebecca and Craig Robinson, who also manage the Lincoln Green pub in North Hykeham.

The Scarlet Red will be serving home-cooked food, has six hand-pulled ales and has created ten jobs.

Lincoln’s Dexter pub closed down in February this year and has since been unoccupied.

Speaking to The Lincolnite, business owner Rebecca Robinson, said: “We’re trying to keep the standard pub mentality and offer home-cooked food at reasonable prices, but still offering good quality of food.

“We will be selling six hand-pulled ales, four lagers, a variety of ciders and many other bottle products.”

Rebecca emphasised how much of a boost it is to open before the busy Christmas period.

“Oh it’s hugely important. We were originally supposed to open on September 4 however we were delayed for three weeks, but this is a prime time to open.”

The pub restaurant will be open Monday to Sunday from 12 noon until 11pm.
