The colourful festival, which is set to be the biggest to date, will kick off with a Pride Parade from 12 noon on Saturday, September 23.

Show-stopping floats will be a particular highlight during the parade.

The party will then get underway on the Brayford Waterfront, where there will be a main stage featuring headliners B*Witched and dance anthem group Livin’ Joy.

Lincoln Pride has been run under its current committee for five years, the party and parade are free to attend.

Information about the day, VIP tickets and stall applications can be found on the event website here.

After the full day of activities, those wanting to continue partying can do so at the Official After Party at The Scene Lincoln from 7pm.

Attendees will recognise one of the performers, Amrick Channa from this season’s X Factor when his flamboyant audition landed him a place in the next round.

Philip Yeo from Lincoln Pride UK said: “A lot of people think that now we’ve achieved marriage equality for LGBT people in Britain, pride can just finish, and that’s just not true.

“We provide a safe space for LGBT near and far, and even if we can help just a very small amount of people, it’s all worth while.”
