And they’re gone! Knights collected ready for auction at Lincoln Cathedral

The knights will now be ‘spruced up’

Lincoln’s beloved knights have now been collected following the last day of the Lincoln Knights’ Trail yesterday.

The knights were spotted on Monday, September 4 being taken away ahead of their castle reunion and sale at Lincoln Cathedral.

All of the knights will now be taken away to be ‘spruced up’ before being reunited at Lincoln Castle.

Between September 20 and 27, families will then have the opportunity to see the knights all in one location once again before they are sold at auction.

The auction will then be held at the cathedral on September 30.

Two-thirds of the money raised from the sale of the knights will go to The Nomad Trust. The remainder will kickstart an Art & Innovation Fund for Lincoln.

The half-sized sculptures in the Education Knights’ Trail have also been removed from their eight locations in the city.

They will be reunited again in the Waterside Shopping Centre, from September 5 to 27.

Tickets for the auction, which will take place at 6.45pm on September 30 cost £15, to include a drink and canapes. They can be bought online.
