Crafty donation for children at Lincoln hospital

A lovely gesture!

Children at Lincoln County Hospital are being treated to a trolley full of craft goodies thanks to a charitable donation.

The charity Clowns in the Sky, which is dedicated to the welfare of children with brain tumours, has provided a full craft and sensory trolley to the Rainforest children’s ward at the hospital.

The trolley can be used by children at their bedsides or in the ward’s play room, and comes full of craft items including Christmas-themed activities.

Clowns in the Sky will also pay for the trolley to be re-filled with resources twice more over the next year.

Donna Byrne, Clowns in the Sky Development Officer, said the trolley was purchased thanks to fundraising by Messingham Farm Shop and Café and an event run by local fundraisers Sam and Julie.

She said: “The trolleys are fabulous resources and take the playroom to the child and are accessible at any time.

“These trolleys aim to make children’s stay in hospital a more pleasant one with the overall aim to put a smile on the face of any child.”

Play leader on rainforest ward, Donna Wilkinson, said: “We are delighted with this new trolley, and the children using the ward will enjoy taking part in some craft activities.

“It really helps our children to have fun things to do to distract them during their stay in hospital.

“We are particularly fond of all the lovely Christmas craft items that the children will love making.”
