A Met Office yellow weather waning is in place across the whole of Lincolnshire for strong and, at times, gale-force winds.

The warning covered the period between 10.40am on Wednesday, November 22 and 7am on Thursday, November 23.

Forecasters said: “Strong winds are expected to move east across England and Wales during Wednesday then gradually recede southeastwards on Wednesday night, finally easing from the southeast of England around dawn on Thursday.

“Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely whilst outbreaks of rain, occasionally heavy, will add to the difficult travel conditions.”

A yellow warning is also in place for heavy rain in the north of the county and Humber region until 9am on Thursday.

Drivers are being warned to prepare for possible travel disruption and localised flooding.
