Problematic Lincoln High Street footbridge to re-open later this month

The bridge opened in June 2016 and repairs began two months ago.

Residents of Lincoln will soon be able to use the £12 million footbridge again on the High Street as the repair works are set to be completed later this month.

Network Rail told The Lincolnite that the bridge, which opened in June 2016 and closed temporarily for repairs, will reopen on Thursday, November 30.

Rail engineers began work on resurfacing the steps in September to correct a number of faults.

A Network Rail spokesperson previously said: “As we said at the time, we were not happy with the finish of the bridge and we committed to carry out further work to it to bring it up to the standard which the people of Lincoln deserve.
