Santa and his reindeer will be taking time out of their busy schedule to meet the people of Lincoln this week.

Families will be able to meet Santa and his four-legged friends between 2pm and 4pm on Thursday, November 23, at St Marks Shopping Centre.

Then, at 6pm, Santa’s sleigh will be pulled by the reindeer up Lincoln High Street.

The parade will take a diversion through the Cornhill Quarter, down Sincil Street and ending at City Square, where children will be able to meet the group and have their pictures taken.

This year, animal activists spoke out against the event, arguing their were animal welfare issues involved in using the animals this way.

Organisers however reassured visitors that the herd were free ranging, from the Cairngorn mountains in Scotland.
