‘A snowflake generation’: Piers Morgan rants about Lincoln Christmas Market

“What is happening to this country?”

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan has lashed out at the cancellation of the Sunday Lincoln Christmas Market.

The TV presenter said on Good Morning Britain on Monday, December 11 he couldn’t believe a Christmas market could be cancelled due to the forecast of snow.

As previously reported, the final day of the annual market was cancelled late on Saturday night due to fears of extreme weather conditions.

Organisers City of Lincoln Council said they had a ‘difficult decision’ to ensure the Christmas Market was a safe and legal event.

Piers Morgan said on national television: “An update on the Lincoln Christmas Market that was cancelled.

“Apparently, it wasn’t because of snow, it was because of the forecast of snow, which never came!

Simon Walters, director for communities and the environment at the City of Lincoln Council told The Lincolnite: “It became clear we were expecting between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow to hit Lincoln. It has an implication not just for the market but also for the wider road network.”
