More homes lose electricity as second power cut hits Lincoln

Power cuts spreading across Lincoln.

More than 1,000 properties in the uphill Lincoln area have been affected by another power cut.

As reported previously, hundreds of homes in villages east of Lincoln lost power just before lunchtime on Tuesday, January 9.

Western Power Distribution has now said 1,065 properties are without electricity in the LN1 3 and LN2 1 areas of the city.

It is expected that power will be restored in affected areas by 2pm.

More homes in north Lincoln have lost power.

A small number of homes and businesses in the LN2 3 area are also affected, but these have been given a resolution time of 3pm.

A WPD spokesperson told The Lincolnite: “Our engineers are on site and will be working to restore supplies to customers asap. The cause is unknown at the moment.”
