Birchwood Leisure Centre’s new facilities open on Monday

Almost there!

New facilities at Birchwood Leisure Centre will officially open on Monday.

There’s state-of-the-art spinning studio, children’s soft play area and climbing wall as part of £1.5m refurbishment of the centre.

The City of Lincoln Council, who run the centre on Birchwood Avenue, have been releasing images of the improved venue on their Twitter page.

They will continue to tease the new equipment and spaces as the weekend goes on.

Lincoln Council are offering sneak peaks of the facilities on their Twitter page.

Speaking in March of last year, Councillor Donald Nannestad, Portfolio Holder for Recreational Services and Health at the city council, said:

“The modernised leisure centre will provide fantastic new facilities for Lincoln, and offer something for everyone all under one roof, creating more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get active.

“Exercise and physical activity play an important role not just in keeping healthy, but also in helping people in other areas of their lives. The new café will also provide a space for people to socialise.”
