Cowley v Cowley: Brothers go head to head in charity game show

Battle of the Imps

Lincoln City’s managerial duo Danny and Nicky Cowley are used to working together in the dug-out, but will be on opposing teams for a charity panel game show.

Players and coaching staff, along with former Imps manager and captain Steve ‘Tommo’ Thompson, will join the teams for the event at the Engine Shed on Monday, March 19 starting at 7.15pm.

The game show will test the managerial duo’s knowledge of the club and will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio Lincolnshire the week commencing March 26.

The Lady Imps Supporters Assocation (L.I.S.A) have organised the event, with the close support of Lincoln City Football Club.

Tickets priced at £15 will go on general sale on February 19, with all profits from the evening going to Lincoln City FC’s nominated charities: St Barnabas Hospice, Lincs2Nepal, as well as Imps in the Community.

Tickets will be available via the Lincoln City FC website.  The event is for those aged 16 and over, with a full licensed bar available and an outside ‘Fanzone’ with catering.

LCFC Chief Executive Liam Scully said: “We are delighted to be working with the team from L.I.S.A in aid of our nominated charity partners. This event is for the fans by the fans, and further demonstrates just how special our supporters really are.

“The event will be a great night, and it will give a real glimpse into the competitive nature that we know Danny & Nicky have.  Everyone has seen weekly what it means to them when the team win, but this is a unique event which really will showcase how they drive each other to be better, no matter what they do.”

Lincs2Nepal founder Garry Goddard added: “This event will raise funds towards us adding PE to our curriculum and maybe discovering the first Nepali imp. Big thanks to L.I.S.A”.
