Man who brandished knife on Lincoln High Street charged

He will appear in court at a later date.

A Lincoln man who caused police to shut off an area near Lincoln High Street when he pulled out a large knife has been charged.

As previously reported, officers were alerted at around 11.55am on Friday, February 2 to reports that a man was seen with a knife on Mint Street.

Policing officers located and arrested Stuart Wilson, 47, of Frank Wright Court in Lincoln.

Shocked onlookers said officers drew a taser on the suspect and the nearby Age UK building was on lockdown.

Wilson has now been charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

He has been bailed to appear at Lincoln District Magistrates Court on February 22.
