New residents to move into North Hykeham flats later this week

The first residents will move in later this week.

Developers have completed a scheme of 33 two-bedroom flats on Station Road in North Hykeham, with the first residents set to move in later this week.

The Steam Court development is the first by Lafford Homes Ltd, a housing company wholly owned by North Kesteven District Council.

The first residents will move in this Friday.

Of the 33 new flats, 27 will be for the private rental market and six will be classed as affordable housing.

The company operates through its own board of directors, using existing building firms to fulfil its projects.

Director of Lafford Homes Phil Roberts said: “It will provide much-needed rental apartments in an area of otherwise unmet demand on to the private-rentals market as well as more accommodation for North Hykeham.”

Kevin Damarell, managing director of Lindum’s Building Maintenance Services Division, said: “At Lindum, we strive to be good neighbours in our local community and being part of a project to create much-needed private and affordable homes like this complements this ambition.

“This is our first job with Lafford Homes Ltd and it has been rewarding to see the land brought back into use in such a valuable way.

“In addition, it’s great to be working just down the road from our offices, making a lasting difference to the landscape in this part of Lincolnshire.”
