Teenage girl dies in hospital after Lincoln village crash

The crash involved just one car.

A teenage girl has died in hospital 10 days after a crash in Welton.

Gemma Marshall, 19, from Rotherham died at Queens Medical Centre, following the crash at 9.20pm on February 3.

She was a student at the University of Lincoln.

Emergency services were called to the crash, which took place on the A46 Lincoln Road at Welton and involved a single vehicle, a blue Peugeot.

There were three people in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The driver and one of the passengers, Gemma Marshall, were taken to the Queens Medical Centre with serious injuries where she died on February 13.

One other passenger received minor injuries.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who saw the blue Peugeot prior to the collision to contact us on 101 quoting incident 434 of February 3.”
