A Skegness man has been charged with the robbery of Michael Broxholme in Lincoln in June.

Anthony Robertson, 23, of Grosvenor Road in Skegness, was arrested on July 22 and charged in the early hours of July 23 with robbery.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Boston Magistrates’ Court today.

Michael Broxholme, 69, was pushed to the ground and robbed during the early evening of June 27 on Hermit Street in Lincoln.

He was taken to Lincoln County Hospital but died the following evening.

A Home Office post mortem has been carried out but was inconclusive. Police are waiting for a second post mortem.

At this stage the cause of death remains unclear and police are doing further tests.

Firefighters rescued a cat stuck up a chimney breast in Lincoln.

The North Hykeham crew was called to Mill Lane on Tuesday, July 22, at around 9.10pm.

The cat that went missing around a week ago and was discovered stuck up a chimney breast.

Firefighters had to drop the length of the chimney with a 13.5m ladder and removed brickwork using small tools in order to free the cat.

The cat has been reunited with its owners on Tuesday night.

Joanne Booth, a neighbour who observed the rescue operation, said: “They really worked hard to find it. I was very impressed.”
