Once again it is that time of the year when the people of this great sausage county can celebrate the world famous Lincolnshire Sausage at the Lincolnshire Sausage Festival.
The Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia, in association with the Select Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire County Council and the Lincoln Business Improvement Group, are hosting the 11th Lincolnshire Sausage Festival.
There will be demonstrations from TV chef Rachael Green, who will be preparing some delicious dishes, including the Great Lincolnshire Sausage. There will also be Sausage making demonstrations by Neil Curtis from Curtis’ of Lincoln. There will be entertainment from The Europa Clowns, Matto and Polo, street music, the Cosmic Sausages and the appearance of Mr Sausage throughout the day in and around the Castle Grounds.
There will also be children’s cookery demonstration area, as well as face painting in the Redhill’s Marquee.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Cathedral will be giving visitors the opportunity to taste and explore just how our food gets from field to fork. This will include exhibitors tracing the history of farming and they will be demonstrating different seeds.
Vintage tractors will also be on show, as well as state of the art farm machinery. Local businesses and their produce will also be participating in the event.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see what goes into Tom Woods’ Beer, who pride themselves on using all English ingredients in their beer. Woodlands Farm will also be revealing what is distinctive about organic farming. But it is not just the harvest of the land; the sea also will be represented with the help of Grimsby Smoked Fish.
With over 50 exhibitors, there will be something for everyone. The Castle and Castle Hill will be filled with stalls selling all types of produce.
