    Description

Bransby Horses is an established charity that is governed by its Board of Trustees. The charity’s work is the rescue and welfare of equines providing care for hundreds of horses, ponies and donkeys at its site in Lincolnshire.

Trustees are unpaid volunteers who generously give their time to perform the most important of roles in being responsible for the running of the charity. Day to day management is delegated to the Chief Executive who is responsible for over one hundred staff and volunteers but the Trustees must attend meetings and are responsible for the decisions needed to ensure the charity complies with legal and financial duties and Charity Commission guidelines.

Trustees must work together in the best interests of the charity so need to be comfortable within a team but also be willing to contribute on matters in which they are knowledgeable and experienced.

The Board is looking to appoint new Trustees and is seeking candidates who are confident and enthusiastic. Finance and human resources experience would be desirable but not essential. You must have the time to attend regular monthly meetings as well as to prepare for these by reading the papers circulated beforehand. The meetings are held during office hours and usually last a full morning. We also request trustees attend our three annual Fayres and other events. Training is provided and expenses are paid.

If you feel you have the right qualities and wish to make a valuable contribution to the Charity please send your letter of application together with your CV to Debbie Hall at Bransby House, Bransby, Lincoln, Lincs LN1 2PH or via email: [email protected] uk

Successful candidates will be invited for an informal chat and tour of the site. A subsequent Trustee Selection Day will provide a presentation of the charity and its work which will be followed by a brief formal interview to ensure you are a Fit and Proper Person to be appointed as a Trustee of a charity.
