Hotel Services is a major contributor to the support of clinical and nursing care in providing a clean and safe environment maintained to the highest standard. Hotel services are responsible for providing portering, transport, cleaning, linen/sewing services, switchboard, reception, catering, security and car parking services for the Trust.
As a department, we will ensure all patients, staff and visitors feel safe and secure, receive appetising, nutritious food in a clean and welcoming environment. The portering staff will ensure that patients, equipment, linen and post are in the correct place at the correct time.
About the role
The post of the Housekeeping Section Leader is to oversee and co-ordinate the provision of an efficient, high quality and cost effective Housekeeping service to all Wards and Departments on site and, where applicable, to off-site locations, under the direction of the Team Leader and Hotel Services & Catering Manager, and to promote excellent standards of team working and Customer Care.
Ensuring that hospital Wards, Clinics and Departments are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene, environmental cleanliness and appearance and leading the Housekeeping team in delivering high quality services to all areas; supporting the delivery of service modernisation and National Initiatives.
You will be seen across the site and will be required to carry out your work so that the standards set and the wide range of services provided support patient care and the needs of other hospital users.
The post holder is expected to treat patients, service users and carers with courtesy, care and compassion at all times, treating each person as an individual by offering a personalised service. Trust staff will adopt behaviours and attitudes which promote, supports and respects privacy and dignity in accordance with the Trust Dignity policies and dignity in care pledges. Staff are expected to challenge poor practice in relation to dignity and treat each other with respect.
What we’re looking for
We require a Section Leader with ability to use your own initiative and a positive sense of, and approach towards customer care. Flexibility towards the work so as to meet changing needs and priorities at all times is required; including a ‘hands on’ approach in order to support the team’s work.
The appointed candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of working in a high level customer focused service and be able to demonstrate previous Supervisory experience.
